Calendars for Sale

 Cairo Community Foundation  North Ball Field Committee has created  2021 calendars to sell for $50 a calendar. Each month a lucky winner (someone who bought a calendar) will have the opportunity to win a new gun or $500 cash. 

If you would like a calendar or know of any one who would like one, please contact Barb Knopik or Tara Janda to buy one. They can also be purchased at the Village Office.

Downtown Trick or Treat Event

Bring your little ones out to trick or treat in their costumes on Friday, October 30th anytime from 4-7. The local businesses participating in this first annual event are as follows: German Farmers Mutual Insurance, First Baptist Church, Western National, Village of Cairo, Inspire Salon, The Watering Hole, KS Hair Crafting, The Gathering Place, Stretch Powersports, Pathway Bank & Insurance, The Medina Street Vault, Christ Lutheran Church, and Pump & Pantry. KRVN @ Junk Jaunt

KRVN will be at Junktion 2 & 11 on Friday, September 25 from 9-11, their is a giveaway for a 2020 Chevy Blazer, the drawing will be a couple of weeks from now. Anyone is able to register for the giveaway. Stop by and register to win!

Job Posting

Executive Director of the Cairo Housing Authority.  Duties include but are not limited to: The management of 18 units of rental assisted independent living apartments. Ability to understand and adhere to HUD government regulations and reporting.  Have  knowledge of federal, state and local  housing laws. Be responsible for all financial management including rent collection, payroll, insurance, budgets, grant documentation, audit preparation, filing of tax reports, accounts payable and receivable and inventory control.  This is a part-time position requiring 15-20 hours per week and available 24/7. A High school diploma is required however a college degree and/or previous housing experience is preferred. Must have strong computer skills, strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an outgoing, participative style and be motivated and able to multi-task.  Will require supervision over other staff and report monthly to the Board of Commissions with regular monthly meetings. Goodwill Trailer

The Goodwill Donation trailer will be set up at the Community Center starting Friday October 18th until Friday October 25th. Please refrain from bringing furniture, televisions and large appliances due to limited space. Household items such as clothing, shoes, purses, books, hats, computers, printers, etc. will be accepted. For any questions you can contact the village office at 485-4400.
