Fireworks at Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church LFY is hosting its July 4th celebration on Sunday, July 1st starting at 6:30 pm in the Christ Lutheran Church Parking Lot.

The public is encouraged to stop over for hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips and dessert served in the parking lot. (Free will donation)

The 6th annual Show-N-Shine will be held in the North parking lot.  Please see Matt Neppl to show and park your pride and joy.  Tractors, motorcycles, lawnmowers, planters, fancy cars in various conditions welcome and encouraged.  No entry fee required.

Youth games in the yard and cards in the fellowship hall.

Fireworks will start at dark, please bring your lawn chair to enjoy the show.

Progressive Agriculture Safety Day – June 5th

Progressive Agriculture Safety is this week, on June 5th.

This event is made possible with a grant from Cargill and financial support from Farm Credit Services.

Pathway Bank is our gift sponsor.  Each child will receive a flashlight provided by Pathway Bank.

Funds are managed by the Cairo Community Foundation.

Registration is from 8:00-8:30 am.  You not need to be pre-registered to attend.

This year’s sessions include: Combine Safety, Pinch Point Safety, Healthy Life Styles, Food Safety, Disability Awareness, Tractor Rollover Weather safety,Nebraska 811
Animal Safety, Protective Gear

Registration fee is $5.00.
This safety day includes lunch, a T-shirt, take-home “goody” bag, and a flashlight for each student. The camp will end at 2:00 pm. An adult will need to pick up each child at the conclusion of the day.

Cornstalk Festival Parade

Be a spectator or be a part of the Cairo Cornstalk Parade on June 9th.

Parade begins at 10 am.

Parade entry check in starts at 8:30 a.m. on the northwest side of Community Center
All parade entries MUST be in line by 9:15 a.m. for judging.

Parade entry winners receive a cash prize.

The theme this year is “Sea of Red.”
