Oct 15, 22, 29, Nov 5, 12, 19, 2015
Grand Island City Hall
The Grand Island-Hall County Emergency Management Department will sponsor a Basic Training Course for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) at the Grand Island City Hall on Thursday evenings, beginning October 15 and ending November 19, 2015. Courses will begin at 6:00pm and end approximately 9:00 pm. The CERT training ends with a full scale disaster exercise. This exercise will test the students’ skills and abilities through a simulated emergency event.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community.
Participation in this course is free and open to the public, both to adults and to youth 12 and older with parental permission. To register, contact the Emergency Management Department at 308-385-5360 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
