Cairo Youth Musical Theater Camp

Area boys and girls are invited to participate in a musical theater camp in Cairo June 17-21.  Beverly Wiebe-Brown, assisted by Denise Lowry, will direct the production of “Cairo.  I can see it.  It is absolutely heavenly,” an original musical celebrating the settling of Cairo, Nebraska, with final program presented to the community on Friday, June 21, in Hulett Park, at 6:30 p.m. (following the Corn Queen contest).
Youth who have completed kindergarten through eighth grade will meet daily Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 at the Cairo Community Center from 12:30 to 3 p.m., learning and practicing songs, choreography, and spoken parts, as part of the “Cairo, a Touch of Heaven on Highway Eleven” celebration.
You may remember the production of “Destination Rock’n’Roll” last summer.  This year the focus will be on the beginnings of Cairo, the people, the dreams, the attraction and development of the area.
There is a $5 fee, to help with expenses and participants are encouraged to provide their own costume as”settler, cowboy, farmer, etc.” If any other people have costumes that can be used, they will be very much appreciated, also.
Registration information is below.   Any questions, call or see Mrs. Wiebe-Brown(485-4128) or Mrs. Lowry(485-4775.)  Come prepared to have fun and be part of a very special camp and program!
