No Bummer Summer

No Bummer Summer is a fun, educational program for children ages 4 and up.  Classes start in June and run through July.  Come join the fun.

June Classes Include:

Theatre

• 6/18 – 6/20 12:15 – 3:00
• 6/21-6/22 9:00-11:30
• Ages:  9 – 14
• Fee:  $20 (t-shirt, CD, Music Book provided)
• Destination Rock’n'Roll Musical Theater Camp.  Performance will be Friday June 22nd, 7:00 pm, during the Cairo Cornstalk Festival at Hulett Park.

Photography

• 6/25 9:00 – 11:00
• Age:  Beginners
• Fee:  $5
• Getting Started with Photography? Welcome to our Beginner Photography course! Here you will get our Beginner photography guided lessons. Must Bring Your Own Camera.

Crazy Pillow

• 6/26-6/28 8:00-10:00
• Age:  7+
• Fee:  $15
• Kids will ge a pillow with many designs to choose from.  Each kid will pick out their own design and we will ge a little “crazy” and have some fun making them together.

Scrapbook

• 6/27 10:00-12:00
• Age:  8+
• Fee:  $15
• Make crafty scrapbook pages for your scrapbook.  Learn cool scrapbooking ideas and leave with your own personal scrapbook.

History Comes Alive

• 6/28 10:00 – 11:30
• Age:  10+
• Fee:  $5
• Kids will bring local history to live through hands -0n activities.

Beginning Cooking

• 6/29 9:00-10:00
• Age: 5-8
• Fee:  $15
• Kids will start at the very beginning in the kitchen with a certified Health Coach.

Intermediate Cooking

• 6/29  10:30-12:00
• Age:  9-14
• Fee:  $15
• Kids will learn new cooking skills with a certified Health Coach.

July Classes Include:

Flower Power

• 7/10 9:30-11;00
• Ages 8+
• Fee:  $10
• Students will use fresh mums to crate their own puppy in a basket.

Dinosaurs

• 7/16 9:00-10:30
• Ages: 4-6
• Fee:  $5
• Dig deep into the truth about dinosaurs!  Play with fossils, learn about different dinosaurs and even make your own dinosaur imprint.

Rockets

• 7/17 9:00-12:00
• Ages:  9-14
• Fee:  $5
• 3-2-1 Blast off!  Have a blast making and launching water rockets.

Basic Aid

• 7/18 9:00-11:00
• Ages: 8+
• Fee:  $5
• First aid is the provision of initial care for an illness or injury.  It’s a great idea for children and adults to do a first aid course so that you know what to do to help others.

Babysitting Class

• 7/19-7/20 8:00-12:00
• Ages:  10+
• Fee:  $30 YMCA Members/$40 Non Members
• This class is a hands-on approach to the serious subject of toddler safety.

Manage Your Money

• 7/23 9:00-11:00
• Ages:  10+
• Fee:  $5
• Kids will be taught lessons on checks and balances.

Fire Department Tour

• 7/24 9:30-10:30 or 10:00-10:30
• Ages:  All
• Fee:  $5
• Guided tour through the Fire Department.  Will meet at the Cairo Fire Hall.  Kids under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Please indicate which time frame you would like your child to attend on the registration form.

Bowling

• 7/25-5/27 10:30 – 12:00
• Ages:  All
• Fee:  $15
• Kids will get to enjoy 3 days of bowling.  Class will meet at the Cairo Bowling Alley on Main Street.  The registration fee will cover shoes and 3 games per day.

One Community

• 7/30-7/31 9:30-11:00
• Ages:  8+
• Fee:  FREE
• Take pride in your community. Please wear old clothes and bring gloves.

Classes will be offered at the Cairo Community Center unless otherwise noted.

Registration for the June classes will be due June 1st.  Registration for the July classes will be due July 2nd.  Payment in full is due at registration.

Class size will be limited based on volunteer/teacher/student ratio.
